Is Patel Tall

The debate over Patel becoming  the first PM of India rather than Nehru has been going around for past some years and this has been planned and circulated by people who wanted to adopt Patel has their leader. They have successfully done this by installing a tall statue of Patel.

If you are a student of history you will know that these activities can be carried out only by hindutava group. The basic concept of hindutava is to try to defeat the enemy or else integrate the ideology with them. This has happened 2500 years ago when a revolutionary leader called Buddha decimated the vedic religion from the north and helped the poor in agriculture. Agriculture was on the verge of extinction because of the steep decline of the cow population. The cow population was on the decline because of the high consumption of cow meat by the Brahmins in the name of yagams.(few references  can be taken from the following Rig veda X 86.14,X 91.14 and X 72.6.) . When  Buddha stopped the culture of cow eating  people followed him and thus started the  decline of vedic religion .First they  tried to eliminate Buddhism and when that was not possible they integrated Buddha into their religion and the avatar of Vishnu. Brahmins  not only stopped eating cow meat but they become a strong vegetarian.
The worst happened when Buddhism was a part of  Hinduism as per constitution of India. Hindutava groups will claim that we don't have a problem with religions such as Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism because these religions are born in our land, and they further claim that Christianity and Islam will not be accepted because it was born in foreign land. The truth is that so called Hinduism has already integrated Jainism and Sikhism  they are no more a threat to them but Christianity and Islam is not a easy religion to integrate.

The questions in front of us is
Why Patel has been adopted?
Is Patel the tallest leader of our country?
What was his role on creating India?
Patel and RSS relationship?
Patel's action on Gandhi's murder?

When Modi became the PM he started to adopt right wing people into BJP from congress. Madhan Mohan Malaviya was the first in the list, he was given the bharath rathna award. All their leaders has a very bad experience with history and could further taint their reputation. The reason for choosing Patel on their side is because Patel was one of the right wing person in congress. From the beginning of the congress party till today congress has right wing people who act like centre and secular but they are more of RSS supporters. Patel belongs to this category. To prove why Malviya and Patel was adopted we will look into the speech made by Patel on communal award at Shivaji park Bomnay dated 7th october 1934. In his speech he supports Malviya directly and he is against the communal award. Their is a slight difference between Gandhi and Patel's view, the former wants the communal ward for Muslims but not for SC & ST (Gandhi viewed that given communal award for SC & ST would alienate them from the Hindu religion) the later doesn't want to give communal award to the both Muslims and SC & ST it is pure view of the RSS and other right wing.I quote Patel on the above speech "There is no difference between congress and Malaviyaji on the fact that the communal award is absolutely condemnable thing" Now you will know why the BJP and RSS has adopted Patel. You can call them soft right wing in congress party.

Yes Patel was one of the greatest leaders of India and his contribution for our freedom and nation building is highly respected. Now their is talk among the right wing that Patel should have been the first PM of our country because he unified our country which was divided in the form of small princely states. Is this true let us see his contribution of making India into a one country. Most of us know that before the declaration of Independence the princely states were given 3 options ,namely 1.join India,2.join Pakistan 3.Can be a sovereign state. During that period it is estimated that around 550 princely was in India out of which 546 of these princely states was easily integrated either into India or Pakistan that was mainly because of Mountbatten. Mountbatten used his influence with the princes to push them towards accession. He declared that the British government would not grant dominion status to any of the princely states, nor would it accept them into the British commonwealth. He also pointed to the difficulties that princes would face maintaining order in the face of threats such as the rise of communal violence and communist movement. The problem of integration was faced with Hyderabad,Kashmir,Junagadh and Travancore. So how did Patel deal this problem has an Home Minister will look into it. Firstly on Kashmir, we all know that after independence Kashmir which was a Muslim majority state ruled by Hindu king which opted to be an independent country. This changed when the border tribes with the help of Pakistan Military attacked Kashmir and it took the help of India and became the part of our country with special privileges and the assurance to conduct referendum but these things didn't happen because of the personal influence of Nehru. The views of Patel was completely different on Kashmir. "While its true that Nehru was keen on Kashmir's accession to India,Patel was opposed to it. Sheikh Abdullah told me in an interview later (21 feb 1971) that Patel argued with him that as Kashmir was a Muslim-majority area it should go to Pakistan. Even when New Delhi received the maharaja's request to accede to India, Patel said: ' We should not get mixed up with Kashmir. We have already have too much on our plate'. "*  The issue of Kashmir is debatable but Nehru was the brought in this princely state and it is not Patel.
Junagadh was an another princely state which was in Gujarat and it was a Hindu majority state which was ruled by a Muslim King. On 14th August 1947,the day of the transfer of power, Junagadh announced that it would accede to Pakistan. As we have discussed earlier it was legally allowed. Pakistan sat on the Nawab's request for a few weeks, but on 13th September it accepted the accession. It seems to have done this in the belief that it could then use Junagadh as a bargaining counter to secure J&K. The acceptance by Pakistan of Junagadh's accession enraged the India leaders. Touched in a particularly 'tender spot' was Patel, who came from the same region. His first response was to secure the accession of two of Junagadh's tributary states, Mangrol and Babariawad . Their Hindu chiefs claimed that they had the right to join India; the Nawab of Junagadh denied this . claiming that as his vassals they had to seek his consent first. The Indian government went with the vassals, and sent in small military force to support them. In the middle of September V. P. Menon  went to Junagadh to negotiate with the Nawab but the negotiations was done with dewan Shah Nawaz.  Menon told Shah that Junagadh that both culturally and geographically should be with India. Shah did not dispute this but complained that local feelings had been inflamed by the 'virulent writings in the Gujarati press' . He said that he personally would favour the issue being decided by a referendum. The formal transfer took place on 9th November and a referendum was held on 20 feb 1948 resulted in 91 % of the electorate voting for accession of India. This was clearly seen that rather than the geographical and cultural aspects it was the personal interest of Patel to takeover the state into India, it was the same case with Kashmir which was personal interest of Nehru was the reason. The smooth sailing the case of Junagadh was the referendum. Still the promised referendum has not happened in J & K.

Travancore was an another princely state which was not interested in joining the Indian union. The state itself was influenced by Diwan of Travancore C P Ramaswami Iyer. He was sure not be part of India even after hard negotiations, he even contacted Jinnah on the issue with India. Nevertheless, an assassination attempt was made on C P Ramaswami on 25th july 1947 during a concert commemorating the anniversary of Swati Thirunal. He survived multiple stab wounds and hastened the accession of Travancore state to the Indian Union soon after his recovery.

And finally Hyderabad, the state of the Nizam was full of wealth and influential. The Nizam wanted to be a rich independent state or a commonwealth state or he wanted to join Pakistan. Joining Pakistan would have made a difficult environment to live, the south would be cutout of the north. To put it in the words of Patel 'cancer in the belly of India'. On 21st June 1948 Mountbattern resigned from office of governor general. On 13 th september a contingent of India troops was sent into Hyderabad and it was called operation Polo. In less than four days they had full control of the state. Those killed in the fighting include 42 Indian soldiers and 2000 of Nizam's men. Finally on 17th Hyderabad was integrated into India. It was Patel's inefficiency to negotiate with the Hyderabad state and he had the fear of overthrowing of the Nizam by the communist movement will spread all over India.

Despite being a congressman, the conservative Patel certainly had common ground, ideologically with the RSS. Three weeks before Gandhi's assassination ,Patel warmly invited swayamsevaks to join the congress. However things changed after the assassination of Gandhi, he was pushed to ban the RSS. The point that is mostly disturbs  us about Patel is the letter which he wrote to Golwalkar dated sep 11 1948. in which he quotes " RSS men expressed joy and distributed sweets after Gandhiji's death". Yes this is a serious issue but the conspiracy and the top people of the RSS was cleared and latter the ban was revoked. RSS's influence on Patel staled the picture of them to the people.

Even though Gandhi is considered has a guru by Patel the actions taken by the then home minister created the doubt about his ability as a minister. There has been 5 attempts on Gandhi for 1934 to 1948. All  these attempts and the final murder traces back to a Nagpur group . Only 10 days before jan 30 1948 an attempt was made and one person was arrested, the simple question which be in the minds of the readers is that what was the home ministry doing to protect the father of the nation. Why no protection even after the fail attempt and who was the master mind of the assassination of Gandhi.

Patel was forced to ban RSS but today RSS and BJP are happy to bring Patel to their ideology.
