Chennai to Valpari

It was an ordinary day in my office until 3.30p.m , i was planning to leave office at 4.30 p.m suddenly i got a call from my boss saying that we have a meeting at client place at 5.00p.m i made no hesitation and replayed him i have to catch train so i want to leave at 4.30 p.m . The meeting was cancelled and i started at 4.45 p.m from my office. I told my mom to make some rice for me and had my dinner and started at 7.30 p.m. Also when i was on my way to central i was making calls to murali and prem , i was happy that they where near the station and there is no late comers . When i reached central it was 8.00 p.m i saw murali and then people where talking about that mohan and babu have made a mess, they might me late there was a little tense in the camp. But every thing became fine mohan and babu made a brave journey to central in a fast train. The started at 9.05 p.m. I saw some new faces in the tour which includes senthil's wife, stells's husband (later gave good company during our drinks in the night) , deepa's friend and chinu.
The train journey was good except the fact that the seats where not in order ,we where sitting in two sets one boys , senthil family and stella family , the another set is murali's mother , sister , deepa and her friend. Things started to settle down in our camp , we had some food and then the big thing came from Mr. Babu a full bottle of brandy , we mixed it with fanta and started by this time people started to sleep . we then broke our party some where around 1.00 a.m.

The next morning we came out of the Coimbatore and the cab was waiting was us , the cab started at 5.00 a.m

The cab was heading straight to the falls in kerala(forgive me for not knowing the name of the falls) on the way we stopped the cab for a kerala where we had some tea and some kerala chips the highlight is prem giving stills is the chips shop and the kerala tea shop. Then after a hour and half drive we got to a hotel for our breakfast(most of us didn't brush our teeth). We had some dosa and puri and then started our journey, the climate was hot that was not expected in the month of December. Then the worst part of my journy came we where climbing a mountain and i started vomiting badly and finally we reached the falls. Only when we reached the entrance of the falls i knew that i was there in 2002(during my +12 tour) but the water levels where not that great. With some fear of water i had bath , By the time we finish our bath it was 2.00 p.m. There was no big hotel near that place , however i made a point not to eat until we reach valpari.

The journy from kerala to valpari was bit quit and nothing spl, everyone was tried of travelling the whole day. Then some joy came when we came near valpari at 5.15p.m . The cab stopped near a dam we took some pictures. The interesting think that i learned from the trip is that the place has lots of water falls and dams.

At last we reached valpari at 6.30 p.m. got ourselves in our rooms then we had some tea and plans where made for the evening party , prem went to find what is there in the town and found a super wine shop. We started to drink somewhere around 7.30p.m and lasted till 9.30 or 10.00p.m while drinking we discussed about various issues great fund that evening(thanks to mohan and chine ) who gave us good company. After this we bought dosa and egg and went back to our rooms.We where very much concerned about our behaviour after drinks because we with elder people and family. Went to bed early as we have to get ready for the side seeing tomorrow

I woke up some where around 6.30 a.m , i was not able to find mohan raj and babu, then myself and prem went to a tea shop had some tea , while coming back i saw senthil, his wife , babu , mohan raj deepa where in the top floor of our room. it was good veiw out there.clicked some photos and started to get ready. myself murali and chinu got ready very and we went to a small water place beyond our room. we went there took some pics great to see such a place near your living area. Hard to get that in your material world(i.e metro cities).

We had our breakfast in the green hill hotel and started for the side seeing.

1.The first thing we saw in the valpari is a temple which is in the tata estate, i didnt go the temple i was with the driver and taking some pics from that view.it was a good site of valpari .

The bad thing about valpari side seeing is that you have to go different directions , that is bit odd .

2. Then after finishing the temple we headed to a tunnel , i thought it was great but it is small tunnel in which water is flowing , and a small water falls . There was school near that place we took some pics and started to the next place.

3. The next place was a dam, as i told you earlier this place was full of water, dams and falls. this day the main day that will provide water to kerala and there is a power plant of kerala. The good part about this dam was that we got some stories from the dam watchman. He was telling about the elephants, snakes etc. But we knew that half was true and the rest was falls.

4.The fourth and the good place that we saw in valpari is poonchlzholie estate , which is said to be beautiful but the bad thing is that i didnt have a SLR camera. We took some pics near the tea plantations and myself, murali and chinu went to a different rout to find some thing different but nothing in the forest. We saw a lot of elephant dung but not any elephant i thing we should have waited till the night to see some action . I thing that is crazy but that is how you see wild and nature.

That was not the last place that we saw in valpari , again a temple.Started with a temple and ended with a temple.Then we went back to our hotel early had some tea and while coming back to our room we took a good pic

isn't this great good boys of the tour.Then again the night came and again we started our party this time we had good party, there was some post party drama, we made sure we slept early because we have to get early the next morning to pollachi.

We got ready bit late rather than the expected time. Being on time is more important when your are in a group and we should go as per the plan so that we can enjoy a lot.I made sure that i was prepared well for the hairpin bends. As we where go through the pollachi it was a beautiful sight that i have seen in my life. It was a misful way , i was on the front seat and loving that mistful road, there was lots of stops in the route it was not because of me, most of them where not able to withstand the bends and vomiting all the way.

Then we stopped near a statue , that was the statue of the person CARVER MARSH and took some pics in front of that .After some time again there was a stop and we came down and seeing the climate we started to dance and enjoyed .
We reached pollachi top slips , but the expected safari ride was at 3.30p.m we had plenty of time. we made tricking trip with a guide. i met a Israel lady by the name ottem. She was asking lot of things about India and also she joined us for lunch.The tricking was good but the fact is that leaches where all over us and ladies where bit scared about that. We where not so happy spl. myself because of the fact that we didn't see any wild animals.

Came back for lunch and after that the safari was a flop because of the forest dept. and there poor way of allotment of the seats in the van. We made a point that we will drive back to Coimbatore and we reached around 7.00p.m and our scheduled time for the train was at 8.55p.m , had our dinner near the station and came back to the train. Again the same problem there is non sequence in the seat number. We found a birth for us and started to sleep,Senthil woke me at 3.30 A.m and he said that he is getting down with mohan raj at AJJ. Then i was waiting for Perambur and reached at 4.30 A.m and good trip got to am end.
